Hoi An Beach Resort, Hoi An
Hoi An Beach Resort is situated some 4km from the historic Old Town, on a narrow strip of land between the De Vong river and Cua Dai beach. The complex includes accommodation blocks in both conventional and villa format, a bar and restaurant, two pools, a spa and even a conference hall. There is a private section of beach across the road, although the beach bar was closed during our low-season visit. The hotel provides a complimentary shuttle to the old town and can arrange airport transfers for a very reasonable charge.
We had an enjoyable stay and were impressed by the friendly welcome from the staff. In fact there was only one real negative: we both agreed that the beds were the hardest, bar none, that we had ever experienced! The abiding memory, though, will be that of sitting on the balcony sipping a G&T, watching life on the river wind down for the day, as the sun slipped below the horizon.
