Round The World and other travels

A frequent flyer's collection of trip diaries

This is: Round The World 2004

Living in SIN (er ... that's Singapore!)

"For some ridiculous reason to which, however, I've no desire to be disloyal,
Some person in authority, I don't know who, very likely the Astronomer Royal,
Has decided that, although for such a beastly month as February, twenty-eight days as a rule are plenty,
One year in every four his days shall be reckoned as nine-and-twenty."
W S Gilbert : The Pirates of Penzance

I spent today doing some self-guided sight-seeing (usually the only kind I like!), including a short river cruise. Lunch was at Boat Quay and dinner back at the hotel. Perhaps it's best if I let the pictures do the talking :-

For some people, Singapore means Raffles :-

Singapore is a fairly serious-minded place, but there were still things that made me smile :-

Oh no - another Irish pub!

Courtesy please - and don't even think about chewing gum!

Well, really ... public nudity ... tsk, tsk!

Ahem! Who would you be more worried about : your immediate neighbour or everybody else?

Police Notice - those damn cattle and horses are the scourge of Singapore!

Sunday cricket - and the gear's still the same in this heat!
