April 2016: Keukenhof

Keukenhof is a large horticultural theme park in South Holland. It opens for approximately 9 weeks each year to allow the Dutch flower-growing industry to showcase the famous spring bulb fields of the region, and visitors flock from all over the world to view the colourful displays. Shuttle buses operate from various points in the Netherlands. I took a ten-minute train ride from my base in The Hague to the old university town of Leiden (which I had previously visited in summer 2014), and caught one of the shuttles from there. As will become clear from the photos, Keukenhof was extraordinarily busy!
